A Very Typical Street.
This view could have been taken in any of the three towns we have visited.
Hydrangeas
There are lots of hydrangea hedges in the islands and we found these lining a country road. The islands are just starting to come into bloom.
As Far As The Eye Can See
Corn is grown across the Azores mainly for turning into silage for cattle.
Praia da Vitoria from above
It was a steep climb up here but a great view. We are the fifth boat from the left!
A Different View
Sailing down the coast of Sau Jorge gave us a good view of cliffs, waterfalls and walled fields.
Shaun the Sheep
This old chap has been barbering in this very shop since a young man (as the photos on the wall testified). Andrez sat very still in the wonderful 1950s barbers chair while the gent took a cut throat ...
Dairy Country
Not all fields are created with stone walls. Depending where you are on the island, some farms use hydrangeas - some use trees.
Veggie Gardens
Volcanic stones are used for creating field boundary walls and also for peoples veggie gardens.
All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go!
Obligatory kit for visiting the cheese factory. Unfortunately, no photos inside.
Velas From Above
The island is bordered all around with huge cliffs. From the top of this one, we got a great view of the town and harbour.
